Sketch Wall Panels

Yes, the surface of the Sketch flexible stone panels is made of 100% natural stones.

There are 3 main categories of Sketch flexible stone panels based on the backfilling materials. 1. Fiberglass backing 2. Fabric backing 3. Translucent backing.

Sketch flexible stone panels can be used for Wall claddings interior & exteriors. It is also used for flooring after laminating on MDF & HDF. Interior applications are usually on MDF, HDF, Plyboards or real solid wood. It can also be installed directly on concrete or Mortar wall.

Due to its lightweight and flexibility, Sketch flexible stone panels can be used for many applications that were not previously considered for stone due to weight and flaking issues.

Yes, You can use Sketch flexible stones for kitchen splashback and bathroom walls. Please make sure you select the fibreglass backing type for such applications.

You can use fabric backing stone panels for places where more flexibility is needed such as curved surfaces, doors and cabinets. Due to its extreme lightweight, Fabric backing stone panels can also be used for phone covers and dresses.

Translucent stone panels can be used for internal illumination lighting. This will give a fascinating appearance.

Everyday wear and tear will not have any effect on our panels, and the panels are suitable for interiors as well as outdoors. However, there should always be awareness of sharp objects coming into impact with the panels to avoid damages.

Flexible Slate Stone Veneer is made from natural slate stone; hence the difference in colour, texture, and surface variations is bound to come in the finished product just similar to the natural stone. There are 4-5 colour & texture variations in each quality of color

Natural flexible stone veneer is very easy to cut with long nosed tin snips for domestic applications. Where large volume of sheets is to be cut use angle grinder or a table saw with a tungsten carbide blade.

It’s a DIY product. However, due to the many variations of wall panels and different techniques of installation, we do recommend having a professional install your wall panels.

Sketch Natural flexible stones are a decorative 100% natural stone flexible veneer sheet.

The stone veneer sheets can be used for projects internally and externally.

Surfaces / substrates must be clean, contaminant free, no flaking paint, smooth and flat. Cracks, voids or damage to the substrate must br repaired prior to installation.

Yes. The stone veneer sheets can be installed over existing tiles, brickwork, concrete blocks, laminate, painted pasteboard, kitchen spashbacks, aluminium, glass, furniture. Please contact Sketch Australia for more information for guidance for these types of installations.

The stone veneer sheets are flexible and can be formed on the length of each sheet. This allows curved walls to be created. Pillars can be wrapped only when ample substatrate diameter of 36cm for small format sheeet and greater for the larger format. The sheets can be made more piable by heating the back of the fibreglass polyester resin backing for curving applications. Heating is generally achieved using a 400 degree heating gun.

The sheets weigh 1.5kg per m2. Very light weight with no requirement to build substrates to hold heavier weights experienced with traditional stone or stacked installations.

Absolutely. The sheets are suitable in wet areas including shower recesses. We recommend using a coating over the surface where maximum protection of the surface is required for oil based contaminants.

The front is made of 100% natural stone, while the backing consists of fibreglass polyester resin. The translucent product can be utilised internally behind the sheet. only and consists of a clear acrylic backing allowing light to be illuminated.

These products are not natural stone and are a handmade decorative sheet consisting of mixed specialist products including UV stable colour pigments and can be used externally.

The temperature limits range from -50°C to +95°C.

Yes, Sketch Natural flexible stones are formaldehyde-free

The thermal expansion rate is 0.5 – 0.8 mm/m (approximately 0.08%).

The fire behaviour is subject to individual assessment.

The thickness ranges from 1 to 2 mm.

The weight per square meter ranges from 1 to 2 kg per m2.

The water absorption rate for the front surface only is 1.9% as per ASTM C-121.

The average abrasion rate is 0.9 mm, and the maximum abrasion rate is 1.0 mm, according to IS: 9162-1979.

Yes, they can be bent or flexed to a radius of 360 mm along the length. However, bending along the width is not recommended.

Yes, they are durable, impact resistant moisture, mould, and require very little maintenance once sealed.

Yes, they can be used in various applications including edge bending operations in the woodworking industry.

Yes, the thin and flexible nature of Sketch Stones allows them to seamlessly hug curves, columns, and intricate design features.

For most applications polyurethane or some MS hybrid polymer construction, or epoxy based adhesives are suitable. Contact Sketch Australia for recommendations based on your project.

Transparent clear polyurethane or neutral cure silicone adhesives/sealants are suitable.

Sketch Stones are designed for effortless installation with no specialist tools required. Installations can often be completed by carpenters, cabinet makers, reasonable DIY or handyman services.

No, Sketch Stones are crafted for lasting beauty and require minimal maintenance due to their durability and stain resistance.

Traditional stacked stone is heavy, requires structural reinforcement, engineering of substrates to hold substantial weight, requires complex installation process utlising trade professionals like tilers and stone masons, and leaves a significant carbon footprint due to quarrying.

Sketch Stones being only 1.5mm to 3mm use less natural stone to create the same stone look than stone tiles and slabs which use significantly more natural resources. Emissions in transporting both from the factory and to customers is greatly reduced due to the lighweight nature of the product. Selecting the product will contribute less on the environment and is a more eco-friendly and sustainable choice.

Lead times vary for each product, please check the description of the product you are interested in to see the delivery timeframe. Delivery will take on average 15 business days, but will not exceed 30 business days unless otherwise communicated to you. If you have not received your order within 30 business days, please urgently contact us. 

We hold some stock on hand. Some panels are ordered in with the manufacturer as per your individual order, it’s worth the wait.
